When we haven't walked in them,
we shouldn't talk like we have been.

BUT…maybe there is a better way.
Not knowing what someone's past has been, should cause us to resist the urge to always comment on their present and future. We haven't walked the miles they've walked yet so many times feel totally equipped to be the first to talk.
Maybe it's like this..
When we haven't walked in them,
we shouldn't talk like we have been.
The most amazing gift we can give someone is the gift of a REALLY good pair of ears. And some of you might also add…a REALLY good pair of shoes couldn't hurt, too. :) When we give them our ears, we make it about them. We listen, empathize, care, cry with, laugh with…WE SIT WITH. When we do this, we offer them the most we can, that is exactly what they need. We offer them something that's better than advice...
