We posted about the benefits of a power nap earlier this week. If you began to implement this plan before talking it over with your boss, you may need this as advice.

We'd recommend talking about the "power nap productivity plan" with your boss before you start doing it though.
That's assuming you'd like to remain employed. ;)

1. Take an early morning walk, run or swim. Exercise gets the mental juices flowing and your productivity racing. (Swim inside…WNY isn't ready for the outdoor swim quite yet!)

2. Start a journal. Write. Give yourself 5, 15 or even 30 minutes to get your thoughts out before they are influenced by anything else.

3. Find one person in your contact list and do something intentional to encourage them.

Part of starting your week on the right foot is making sure you protect your time, resources and relationships. These 3 things are great ways to do just that.

And before you say "I don't have the time", think about it this way. TIME IS ALL WE HAVE…and we never know how much we get!

You could do ALL 3 things in 30 minutes or less.

Are you frustrated because you are working harder than ever just to get the same results you've always gotten?

Tonight on "Sunday Perspective" we'll show you how to get back up and back on top!

Here is an excerpt from an article that made us think about how anyone experiencing that "stuck point" can be encouraged by just…

TAKING A BREAK.

"There are a few common causes of stagnation in training. Often it is an indication that you have peaked — that your body has reached the short-term limit of its adaptive potential. This is likely to be the case if you have been increasing your training steadily for many weeks, or increasing it a little too rapidly. The only solution here is to take a short break from running, maybe do some enjoyable cross-training for two or three weeks, and then begin a fresh training program.

That’s the worst-case scenario. Other times a plateau is merely an indication that you need a brief recovery period to absorb recent training before you resume your build-up. In fact, whenever you encounter a plateau, the first thing you should do is cut back on your training mileage by 20-30 percent for a week and see if that doesn’t bring you around."(source: http://running.competitor.com/2013/07/training/plateau-busters_10538)

Sometimes we do a really great job on making ourselves feel horrible about not experiencing success. And sometimes the very thing that will allow us to experience it is the same thing that holds us back temporarily. OUR HARD WORK. Sometimes…the day of rest, week of vacation, or any other time off is something we feel guilty about…when in fact it's the very thing that will keep us in tip top shape to tackle anything in our path.

The article we drew inspiration from tonight for our blog was specifically about running (bonus for you runners out there!)…but the main thought…aka…perspective is something we can all learn from.

To perform our best,
we have to build time in
to put our feet up and rest.
