We think that the greatest treasures in our community are its people. Think about the family, neighbors, and friends that we are all blessed to journey through life with. Today we’d like to introduce you to a very special lady that we think some may already know.
Meet Judy Gormly Thompson, photographer. Judy and her late husband Tim were married in 1969. 8 months prior, Judy was out for a walk one evening, when she noticed someone following her. A bit nervous, she happened to look up and see a close friend of hers inside a nearby bar. Seated next to her friend was a handsome young fellow. Since she knew her friend was a great judge of character, and to dissuade the young man following her, Judy walked up to the “REALLY good looking” man and said… “Throw your arms around me, kiss me, and act like you are madly in love with me!” And that did it! Tim and Judy were married for nearly 43 years, until Tim’s recent passing. With 2 daughters (Sara and Kristie), and later 3 granddaughters (Karlie, Abbey, and Cameryn)…Chautauqua County has always been home to the Thompson family. And when their first granddaughter was born, Judy ran into a hobby that turned into a full-fledged passion…photography. Tim would drive her all the way to New England (Judy’s parents grew up in New England, and are buried in Vermont) just to take pictures of the incredible covered bridges in the Northeast. To this day, if you see Judy out and about, she always has a camera with her. Whether it’s the faces of her grandchildren, a beautiful landscape, nature, or an amish buggy passing by…she’s ready. One of the hallmarks of Judy’s work is her affinity and incredible ability to capture expressions on the faces of those she snaps pictures of. You can visit Judy’s full portfolio here: www.pbase.com/chalake/galleries We’d encourage you to look and enjoy, but please remember that Judy’s art is her craft. If you are interested in purchasing any images, please reach out to her. Judy also shared a thought she’s heard and has made a mantra in her work… “A good photographer will take 500 pictures, and if they get 1 good one, they’ve done well!” That’s passion! Her family gets to experience that in her love for them. Her friends do in her dedication to them. And we do too, through the art she shares with us. Out of curiosity, we asked Judy these 2 questions: The first… Why Fredonia? “The size of the village. It’s not the big city. The village, town, country, lake…kids can learn so much from things they can do, things they can see, and places they can go! You need everything to fit together, and it does here. It’s a very tight-knit community. And having grown up here has a lot to do with it.” That’s pretty special. To have grown up, and chosen to stay. Not because they had to. Because they wanted to. The last… Why Concord Pharmacy? “Greg would do anything for you. I was sick once, and Greg did something nice for me. He didn’t call…he just came by the house to check on me and bring me what I needed. We’re not just customers to him. He always asks how my kids are doing. We’re not just a person to Greg, we are a friend. You mean something to him. And when I found out he was starting Concord Pharmacy? Wherever he went…I was going.” This is a genuine response we hear a lot around here. We are all pretty lucky to have a Pharmacist like Greg Giambrone taking such great care of us. (He would tell us not to say that…but since he isn’t writing this…we are gonna’ anyway) Thank you, Judy! Enjoy some of Judy's photography in this post…and go visit her full portfolio by clicking the button below, too. If you know someone that is in the Concord Pharmacy “family” that we should feature, let us know. We’d love to share their story too! In the meantime, and as always… Thanks for making Concord Pharmacy, your pharmacy!

Thank You...Two words that just don't seem to cover the sheer depth of gratitude we have for all of those who have served. You are the reason we are who we are as a nation, and have the freedom to be who we are as individuals. We hope today has been a day of encouragement to you. Thank you for your service. You…you are true heroes. We honor you, today…and every day. Happy Veteran's Day!Thank you for caring. Thank you for sharing. We are so happy to be part of this tremendous community. Wherever you went you could see the FEEDING FREDONIA CHALLENGE signs in windows. Thank you to everyone at the Fredonia Presbyterian Church for coordinating this, the other businesses we were honored to be drop off sites with, and the many, many members of our community who brought in food. We truly are part of an amazing community! Have a great weekend knowing you made where we live a better place by taking care of one another!
Celebrate an amazing milestone right here in Fredonia, today!(*Event poster above is from their facebook event page. Go visit below to hear more!) Click below for more details on their Facebook event page. What do you want to conquer? Eating healthier? Exercising more? Overcoming an addiction? Finishing your education? Being a better parent? Being a better communicator? Spending more time with your family? Laughing more than you complain? Having healthy relationships? Drinking more water? Raising your self-esteem? What do you want your legacy to be? You might relate to one, some, or all of these. You might even have more you'd add to the list. The reason we started one, is we are launching a journey at Concord Pharmacy that we'd love you to join us on. We all have areas of life we want to conquer. We want to get better at some things, stop doing others, and make a positive impact on the world around us. So if you are game, make sure you stay connected to us on facebook and here on our blog. We aren't totally sure how this will all play out...but the goal is to be the encouragement we all need. We'll be here for you, and all of us for one another. As we all make progress, here is how we can all think about it. "I'm CONCORDing it!"... (with my friends @ Concord Pharmacy.) A reminder that we are here for you, as you make your progress. And also a reminder that it is way more fun to do something like this on a team. Together. In relationship. Being part of a community. And for the moments when you've overcome something? A milestone moment in your life? "I CONCORD IT!"...@ Concord Pharmacy. So what do you think? Are you in? Stay tuned...the fun is just beginning!!! Your time and your calendar. How your calendar ends up, is determined by how much value you place on your time. You can say yes to every opportunity in front of you, or only to the things you can truly pour yourself into. Protecting your time creates room in your calendar for impact. Make sure you are committing to things that line up with that thought. If you don't, another week will go by. You'll be busy, but wonder what you accomplished when it's over. Congratulations to the local basketball teams |
