QUESTION:
Is it true that I can't refreeze foods after they are thawed? (That I have to cook them right away or throw them out?) ANSWER: Raw food (ex. meat, seafood…) should be thawed in a refrigerator. Take the food out of your freezer and immediately place it in the refrigerator to be thawed out. If you don't end up using it, you can place it back in your freezer again. If you take your food out of the freezer and thaw it on the kitchen counter or anywhere else outside the refrigerator, it should be cooked immediately, and cannot be re-frozen. HAPPY GRILLING! So it's officially "THROWBACK THURSDAY". Or as "the kids" call it… #TBT. A time when we remember what things used to be like. We smile as we look at the past. We sigh, we smile…and then we move on. How about a #TBT with a purpose. How about picking something that used to happen often that has seemed to fade as time has worn on…and BRING IT BACK with a serious purpose.
FAMILY DINNER. Remember when this was a non-negotiable? Remember when practices, jobs and any other commitment took a back seat to family time? Remember when cell phones, iPads, TV's, and any other distraction was not allowed at the table? Remember when? Here is your challenge. Make FAMILY DINNER make a HUGE COMEBACK! Imagine a world that taught the next generation the value of communicating face to face. The value of compassion, laughter, and yes…even sadness, that can only be fully appreciated in person…across the table from one another. Are you in? Take the #TBT FAMILY DINNER CHALLENGE. We bet you'll like the results. Love, Your family @ Concord Pharmacy. Did you know that your brain is the most expensive real estate in your body? It uses up to 20 to 30 percent of the calories you consume. And, just like your body doesn't benefit from junk food, neither does your brain. One lesser-known fact about obesity is that it negatively impacts cognitive function. If you want to look your best, feel your best, and do your best thinking, you have to give your brain high-quality nutrition.
There's just no way around it. You can exercise all you want, think the right thoughts, meditate and take dietary supplements, but if you continue to eat highly processed foods, laden with sugar, bad fats, and salt; made from ingredients grown with pesticides; flavored with artificial sweeteners; colored with artificial dyes; and preserved with artificial preservatives, there is simply no way to keep your body and brain working at their peak. Here's a list of 19 of my favorite foods that are good for your body and brain: [Don't forget to Pin it, Tweet it and Like it -- or even print it to put it up on your fridge!] Read the full article here, including a description of each of the 19 BRAIN SUPERFOODS!: http://www.livestrong.com/blog/19-best-brain-superfoods#ixzz32aWrUTNq "Eating a handful of nuts about five times a week will reduce your chances of getting a heart attack by at least 15 percent and possibly as much as 51 percent.
